Christian Zanzotti, born in 1985 in Italy.
After taking courses in architecture and construction engineering at the technical university of Innsbruck, he studied industrial design at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich.
After several internships and jobs at known offices like Hannes Wettstein in Zurich and IDEO, he got in to the motorsport field working on concept vehicles and light weight developments.
He opened his own studio in Munich in 2013 where he works in the areas of product, furniture and concept vehicles. In February 2014 Christian Zanzotti was awarded with the German Design Award Gold Newcomer 2014.
Vik, a prototype of a modern armchair is the result of a study on the aesthetics of modern seating. The design consists of geometrically simple surfaces connected to each other only on few points. Seat and backrest have been provided with fabric-covered upholstery. The prototype is produced by laser cutting 5mm thick metal plates and banding.
